Frequently Asked Questions

I love planning my own travel, so why would I work with a travel advisor?

We love working with clients that enjoy the planning and coordinating of their trips! Trust us, that’s the main reason we’ve decided to do this professionally :). Given we offer a few ways you can choose to work with us, you may feel solely having us book accommodations would be the best fit. However you choose to use our services, we are able to leverage the partnerships in the destination, our connections with suppliers, and our knowledge-base of our Fora colleagues to help plan the perfect trip. We have a lot of familiarity with under-the-radar and off-the-beaten path restaurants, experiences, and tours that are not in the guide books or on social media. Not to mention - the added perks (see next question!) you get booking with our hotel partners.

What kinds of additional hotel perks/amenities can I get by working with you?

Fora (our host agency) has many partners, including: Virtuoso, Four Seasons, Rosewood, Marriott Luminous, Hyatt Prive, and many more. Because of this, our hotel partners often offer perks like daily breakfast, property credit for food/beverage or spa treatments, upgrades to higher room categories, as well as the ability to check-in early and/or check-out late. In some cases, our partners provide exclusive welcome amenities and complimentary spa treatments.

My credit card already provides me certain hotel perks (similar to the ones above). What is the difference in working with a travel advisor?

There are a variety of credit cards that offer similar perks by booking via their portal. However, your bookings as a credit card client are rarely given personalized attention. Given travel advisors have relationships with our suppliers, we speak directly to the hotels (and other vendors) to provide a more individualized experience. Perhaps most of all, we are a “live” person with a cell phone number and a personal email address that can help should you have any issues or questions during your trip. Either way, assuming you pay for the hotel using your credit card, you’ll still get the points that you can use towards future flights!

Speaking of flights, are you able to book these for our trip?

We can book flights, but we would definitely recommend booking them on your own. First off, it’s typically much more affordable for you to do this directly. Also, using credit card points, is much more cost effective and offers quite a bit more value than using points for hotels. However, there are certain occasions where it may make sense for us to help you. Unless you are booking as part of a cruise, all-inclusive resort, or tour package, we charge a $50 fee/person.

We’ve decided to book a last-minute trip for next week. Can you help?

Almost always! Depending on the scope of the trip and the logistics entailed, we may charge a “rush fee.”
